John Burgess began his business in the Strand, London in 1760. His exotic food products were soon being bought by the gentry and nobility. In 1853 Queen Victoria awarded the company the Royal Warrant which it retains to this day ; proving that the Burgess emphasis on quality is as strong now as it was almost 240 years ago.
